How to create Windows icon (.ico) with Adobe Photoshop

Yesterday I was wondering, how I could create Windows
icon (.ico format files) without using a dedicated
program.
So after a google search i did get much clever!
I already know that I could use Photoshop, to make
these kind of graphic, but I couldn't save it as an icon. I
experienced that I could use Telegraphics photoshop
plugin (For Windows and Mac), after downloading the plugin .ico (Windows
icon format) for photoshop, I did put the file into my
photoshop plugin folder.
Now I could save my (16 * 16 pixel) icon file as a windows icon,
I could also save it for Vista, then
just pick the icon format and save.
So it's guide easy!
- Download the
plugin for your photoshop
- Put the plugin into your photoshop plugin
folder. (A photoshop format plugin has the extension
.8bi)
- Then restart your
photoshop (If it open)
- Wow, now you can save your first windows icon
(.ico)
Hope that, some of you could use the guide!
